The Statistical Center of Iran has published new data on the number of building permits issued in Tehran and other urban areas of the country.
Municipalities across the country issued permits for the construction of 395,141 housing units across urban areas in the last Iranian year (March 2021-22), registering a 26.7% decline compared with the previous year.
The total floor area of units in buildings across the country stood at 76,324 square meters, registering an 18.5% decline year-on-year.
The average number of residential units per permit issued in the fiscal 2021-22 across the country was 3.1 and the average floor area of residential units per permit was 597 square meters.
The total number of permits issued by Tehran Municipality in the fiscal 2021-22 for the construction of 44,549 housing units registered a 16.2% decrease YOY.
In Tehran, the total floor area of units in buildings stood at 8,678 square meters, registering a 19.5% YOY decline.
The average number of residential units per permit in the capital city was 7.8 and the average floor area of units per permit in the capital city was 1,527 square meters.
