Subsidiaries of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization produced 222,053 tons of aluminum ingots in the current fiscal year’s first four months (March 21-July 22) to register a 27% rise in output compared with the same period of last fiscal year, a new IMIDRO report shows.
IMIDRO is the biggest state-owned mining holding in Iran.
South Aluminum Company accounted for the highest share of total output with 95,853 tons. It was followed by Iran Aluminum Company with 61,478 tons, Almahdi Aluminum Company with 52,456 tons and Iran Alumina Company with 12,266 tons.
A total of 80,986 tons of alumina powder were produced by Iran Alumina Company in the four-month period, the sole producer of alumina powder in Iran. The figure registered a 7% growth year-on-year when the output was 75,396 tons.
Iran Alumina Company produced 189,429 tons of bauxite (raw material for the production of alumina powder) during the period.
