Exports from Jolfa customs terminal, located in East Azarbaijan Province, stood at 119,000 tons worth $66 million during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22), registering an 87% and 4.1% year-on-year growth in terms of weight and value respectively, according to a local customs official, Mohammad Khalili.
Petroleum products, construction materials, nuts and dry fruits were the main products exported from this terminal.
Turkey, Iraq, Armenia and Azerbaijan were the main destinations, IRNA reported.
Imports from Jolfa hit 88,554 tons worth $393.38 million during the same period, registering a 21% and 13% growth in weight and value respectively.
Wooden boards, MDF and used cabins were the main imported products.
Turkey, Germany, China, South Korea and Japan were the main exporters.
The local official noted that $393.38 million worth of foreign goods were transited out of Iran through Jolfa during the same period to register a 119% year-on-year increase, as $981.3 million worth of foreign goods were transited into Iran through the terminal to register a 165% increase.
The terminal earned more than $17 million in customs revenues during the period, registering a 401% growth, he added.
