Caspian Airlines has launched direct flights between Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province, and Istanbul, Turkey.
The first flight was operated on this route on Aug. 21, according to the director general of East Azarbaijan Airports Organization.
Flights arrive at Tabriz International Airport at 2:50 p.m. from Istanbul and depart from Tabriz for Istanbul Airport one hour later.
“Currently, flights to Istanbul are operated from Tabriz airport by two foreign airlines, namely Turkish Airlines and Pegasus, in addition to three domestic airlines, namely ATA, Meraj and Iran Airtour. The number of these flights reaches 42 round trips during the weekdays,” Ramin Azari was quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban development.
Caspian Airlines is headquartered in Tehran. Established in 1993, it operates services between Tehran and other major cities of Iran and international flights to Armenia, Syria, Turkey, the UAE and Ukraine. Its main base is Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport.
