IKIA Registers 147% Rise in Customs Revenues

Iman Khomeini International Airport gained 40 trillion rials ($132 million) in customs revenues from the beginning of the current Iranian year on March 21, to August 15, registering a 147% rise compared with the similar period of last year.
"Last year [March 2021-22], we earned 50 trillion rials [$165 million] in customs revenues," Abolfazl Akbarpour, director general of IKIA Customs was quoted by IRNA as saying.  
The official noted that nuts, saffron and gold artifacts are the main exports from IKIA's customs terminals.
He added that 1.19 million passengers were transported out of IKIA in 7,200 flight as 1.2 million travelled to the airport in 7,400 flights during the first four months of the current Iranian year (started March 21). The numbers of passengers registered respective growth rates of 186% and 79% compared to the corresponding period of last year.
All international flights in Tehran are served by IKIA
