A total of 9.72 million tons of goods worth $5.16 billion were exported from Bushehr Province’s customs terminals during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 21-July 22), registering a 12% and 79% growth in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year, according to a local official.
“China, the UAE, India, South Africa, Nigeria, Sudan, Mozambique, Turkey, Pakistan and Singapore were the main destinations,” Mehdi Safavi also told IRNA.
The exports included petrochemicals, mineral products, different kinds of seafood, fruit and vegetable.
A total of 206,000 tons of goods worth $672 million were imported from Bushehr during the same period, registering a 45% and 95% year-on-year rise in volume and value respectively.
The imports included LED modules, textile, rice, tea, rubber, motorbike, bicycle and automobile spare parts.
China, the UAE, Russia, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Turkey, Sri Lanka, South Korea and Japan were the main exporters.
Bushehr is a southern Iranian province that has a 937-kilometer coastline alongside the Persian Gulf.
