A total of 4.44 million tax declarations have been submitted by real entities in the current Iranian year (March 2022-23), indicating more than a 50% increase compared with last year, says an official with the Iranian National Tax Administration.
“Ninety-five percent of projected tax revenues for the first four months of the current [Iranian] year [started March 21] have been realized. A total of 1,450 trillion rials [$4.5 billion] were gained in direct tax and value added tax on goods and services during the period. As many as 2.2 million new taxpayers were identified in the fiscal 2021-22, thanks to the streamlining of bank payment gateways,” Mohammad Taqi Pakdaman was also quoted as saying by IRIB News.
Tax revenues accounted for 48% of all government revenues in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (started March 21), Fars News Agency cited the Iranian National Tax Administration as declaring.
