A total of 52,204 tons of red meat were produced in Iran’s official slaughterhouses during the month ending June 21 to register a 3% increase compared to the previous month and a 2% year-on-year rise.
The Statistical Center of Iran's latest report shows beef accounted for 25,021 tons, or 47.9% of the overall meat production, indicating a year-on-year decline of 12%, SCI reported on its website.
A total of 23,007 tons of lamb (up 23% YOY), 3,313 tons of goat meat (up 6% YOY) and 863 tons of meat from other types of livestock were produced during the one-month period, accounting for 44.1%, 6.3% and 1.7% of the total output respectively.
