    Q1 Exports From Kaveh SEZ Exceed $80 Million

    A total of 141,000 tons of goods worth $82 million were exported from Kaveh Special Economic Zone located in Markazi Province during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), registering a 21% and 73% rise in weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year, according to the director general of the zone.

    “The exported products mainly included light hydrocarbons, oil derivatives, aluminum cans, water heaters, fruit juice, different kinds of glass and glass artifacts, cooking oil, tiles and ceramics, galvanized rolls, paper tissue and cardboard raw materials,” Faramarz Omidi was also quoted as saying by IRIB News.

    The official noted that 41 countries were the destination of exports from Kaveh SEZ during the period, which included Afghanistan, Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkmenistan, Italy, the Netherlands and Syria.

    “We imported 27,000 tons of products worth $98 million from 25 countries during the same three-month period, registering a 20% and 35% increase compared with the similar period of last year,” he added.

    The imports mainly included aluminum coils, apparel raw materials, fruit juice boxes, fruit concentrate and puree, automotive spare parts, sunflower seeds, peanut, toiletry raw materials, refrigerator spare parts and puller trucks.

    The UAE, Turkey, Qatar, India, China, Austria, South Korea, Slovenia, Denmark, Germany, Italy and Iraq were the main exporters.

    Kaveh SEZ registered $180 million in foreign trade during the period.

    Omidi noted that more than 39,000 tons of foreign goods were transited through the zone during the period under review.
