    31% Growth in Public Road Transportation

    A total of 21 million passengers took to public road transportation in the first two months of the current fiscal year (started March 21), indicating a 31% growth compared with the same period of last year. 

    A 10-year record high for road transportation over the first two months of the year was recorded in the fiscal 2012-13 with 38 million passengers.

    A total of 1.8 million tons of goods were transited via Iran’s roads over the period under review, registering a 50% growth year-on-year, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news portal reported.

    A 10-year record high for road transit over the first two months of the year was recorded in the fiscal 2014-15 with 2.1 million tons of goods, the report said.
