The coal concentrate production of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization’s subsidiaries reached 118,971 tons in the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21-April 20).
This indicates a 41% surge compared to their output in last year’s corresponding period when production stood at 84,116 tons.
The subsidiaries extracted 1.82 million tons of coal during the period which, compared to last year’s 230,418 tons, registered a 688% year-on-year growth, IMIDRO reported on its website.
Iranian coal mines, with about 1.15 billion tons of combined reserves, have the capacity to produce up to 3 million tons of coal concentrates annually.
