Semnan Province exported 290,000 tons worth $97 million in the fiscal 2021-22 (ended March 20), registering a 12% and 58% year-on-year growth in weight and value respectively, according to a local official.
“The price of each ton of exported goods registered a 37% growth compared with the previous year,” Hamid Reza Maddah was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
Light hydrocarbons, caustic soda, cable, refined lead, detergents, rebar, silicon, ceramic tile, swamp cooler, pastry, chocolate and sodium chloride were the main products exported during the period.
The main export destinations were Afghanistan, Iraq, the UAE, Turkey, Pakistan, China, the UK, India, Croatia, Serbia, Hong Kong, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Italy.
A total of 12,000 tons worth $58 million were imported to Semnan during the same period, registering a 12% decline in terms of value.
Components and parts of electrical devices and machines, machinery for production of confectionery, chocolate and biscuit, cotton, auto parts, and steel were the main products imported during the period.
Turkey, China, Italy, Germany, Uzbekistan, South Korea, the UAE, Spain, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Malaysia and Switzerland were the main exporters to Semnan.
