Ministry Reviews Industrial Production in Fiscal 2021-22

The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's review of the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2022) indicates the output of 17 products (out of 29 under review) registered growth compared to the preceding year.

The production of trucks, mini trucks and vehicle pullers hit 13,265, up 102% YOY, while a total of 2,769 buses, minibuses and vans were manufactured, up 44.6%.

Leather products amounted to 57.7 million square feet, up 32.1%.

Vegetable oil production stood at 2.03 million tons, up 25.5% YOY.

More than 1.46 million washing machines were produced, up 20.1%.

Carbon black production stood at 164,600 tons, showing a YOY increase of 16.4%.

The output of polyester filament yarn hit 309,000 tons, registering a 12.2% growth YOY while particle boards saw an 11% increase in production to 883,300 cubic meters.

The output of refrigerators and freezers increased by 2.28 million sets to mark an 8.9% increase.

The production of different types of paper stood at 1.09 million tons, while the output of television hit 1.33 million sets, each up 5.8%.

Polyester fibers’ output reached 209,300 tons, registering a 4.4% growth.

Refined industrial and motor oil production hit 692,700 tons, up 3.56%.

A total of 669 combine harvesters were manufactured, showing a 3.1% YOY rise, while tractor production stood at 22,358 in the period, registering a 2.9% increase. 

Petrochemical production stood at 62,060 million tons, up 2.1%.

Human medicine output hit 50.6 billion during the period, up 0.9%.

Twelve products out of the 29 under study registered a decline in production during the period.

A total of 1,400 tons of acrylic fibers were produced, down by 76%.

Around 24,100 tons of pesticides and insecticides were produced, down 28.1% YOY. 

The production of detergent powder reached 515,900 tons, registering an 18.7% fall.

Electric motor production stood at 8.54 million devices, down 18.6%.

A total of 1.36 million cubic meters of fibers were produced during the period, down 14.9%.

Different types of synthetic fiber production declined by 9.6% YOY to stand at 252,700 tons.

Car tire production hit 260,000 tons, falling by 5.6% YOY.

A total of 864,400 passenger vehicles were manufactured, while the production of shoes and other kinds of footwear hit 136.7 million pairs, each showing a 4.4% decrease compared with the similar period of last year.

The production of pickup trucks reached 79,382, indicating a 1.5% decline. 

Cardboard production stood at 566,800 tons, showing a 1.2% decline.

The output of swamp coolers hit 1.26 million, down 0.8% year-on-year.
