Half of Fiscal 2021-22 Jobs in Services

The services sector employed 49.8% of the Iranian employed population (11.69 million) in the fiscal 2021-22 (ended March 20), 0.5% higher year-on-year whereas industrial and agricultural sectors provided 33.8% and 16.3% of jobs respectively, according to the Statistical Center of Iran.
Over 7.93 million were employed in the industrial sector, indicating an increase of 0.5% year-on-year while 3.83 million worked in agriculture, posting a 1.1% decrease YOY. 
The services sector consists of wholesale and retail trade; restaurants and hotels; transport, storage and communications; financing, insurance, real-estate and business services; as well as community, social, education, health and personal services.
