Aluminum Production Up 4%

Major aluminum producers in Iran have registered a 4% rise in output.
According to the latest data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Iran’s aluminum industry produced 89,718 tons of ingots during the current fiscal year’s first two months (March 21-May 21).
The output is 4% higher than that of the corresponding period of last year when the output stood at 86,216 tons.
Iran Aluminum Company accounted for the highest proportion of total output with 31,330 tons. It was followed by Almahdi Aluminum Company with 27,238 tons, South Aluminum Company with 24,917 tons and Iran Alumina Company with 6,233 tons.
A total of 42,406 tons of alumina powder were produced by Iran Alumina Company in the two-month period, the sole producer of alumina powder in Iran. The figure registered an 11% growth year-on-year when the output was 38,160 tons.
Iran Alumina Company produced 38,000 tons of bauxite (raw materials for the production of alumina powder) during the period.
