A total of 46,952 tons of red meat were produced in Iran’s official slaughterhouses during the month ending April 20 to register a 13% decrease compared to the previous month and a 4% rise year-on-year.
The Statistical Center of Iran's latest report shows beef accounted for 25,371 tons, or 54% of the overall meat production, indicating a year-on-year decrease of 4%, SCI reported on its website.
A total of 17,824 tons of lamb (up 18% YOY), 2,689 tons of goat meat (up 9% YOY) and 1,068 tons of meat from other types of livestock were produced during the one-month period, accounting for 38%, 5.7% and 2.3% of the total output respectively.
