Tobacco Inflation at 37.3%

The average goods and services Consumer Price Index of “tobacco” in the 12-month period ending April 20, which marks the last day of the first month of the fiscal 2022-23, increased by 37.3% compared with the corresponding period of the year before, according to the Statistical Center of Iran.
The CPI of the group stood at 637.8 for the month ending April 20, indicating a 2.8% rise compared with the month before. 
The “tobacco” index, which has the least impact on the total inflation rate with a coefficient of 0.59%, registered a year-on-year increase of 40.9%.
