A total of 1.05 million tons of goods were exported to Pakistan from Sistan-Baluchestan Province’s Mirjaveh border crossing in the last Iranian year (March 2021-22), registering a 53% rise compared with the year before, according to a local official, Ayyoub Kord.
“The exports mainly included liquefied gas, hydrocarbons, tomato and other types of vegetables,” he was quoted as saying by ILNA.
The official noted that 46,129 trucks exported the goods to the neighboring country during the period.
More than 300 trucks cross the Mirjaveh terminal per day.
Mirjaveh is located in southeast Iran and borders Pakistan’s Taftan in the State of Balochistan. The checkpoint is considered the main border through which road trade between the two countries is carried out.
