As per the proposal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the Market Regulation Headquarters and the Consumers and Producers Protection Organization have agreed to increase transportation fees in the new Iranian year that started on March 21.
An agreement was signed between the head of Transportation Department of Roads Ministry, Shahriar Afandizadeh, and the head of CPPO (affiliated with the Industries Ministry), Abbas Tabesh, on April 20, based on which road transportation fees for cargos will increase by up to 35% for each ton/kilometer.
Road transportation of passengers will rise by 30% compared with last year’s prices while train ticket prices will see a maximum increase of 25% and that of port services by up to 45%, Mehr News Agency reported on Monday.
