Growth in Output of Five Mineral Products

The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's review of last Iranian year’s 11 months to Feb. 19 shows the output of five mineral products (out of 12 under review) registered growth compared with the similar period of the year before.

A total of 520,100 tons of pure aluminum ingots were produced during the period, up 25.8% compared with the corresponding period of last year. 

Sheet glass production rose by 16.4% YOY to 1.24 million tons.

The production of porcelain dishes increased by 9% YOY to 56,400 tons while the production of copper cathode stood at 272,800 tons, registering a YOY increase of 2.8%.

Tile and ceramic output hit 419.53 million square meters, experiencing a 1.9% YOY increase.

The following products showed a decline in output during the period: Sanitary ware hit 88,200 tons, down 18.6%, coal concentrate production was at 1.35 million tons, down 12.3% YOY, cement and steel products stood at 57.4 million tons and 23.18 million tons respectively, down 9.1% and 4.4% respectively YOY.

The output of glass dishes exceeded 669,400 tons, showing a YOY decrease of 0.3%.

Crude steel production hit 26.17 million tons, indicating a 0.2% drop year-on-year, while the output of alumina slid by 0.1% to 211,100 tons.

A monthly review of the ministry shows the output of four mineral products (out of 12 under review) registered growth in the 11th month of the current fiscal year (Jan. 21-Feb. 19) compared with the preceding month.

Coal concentrate production also registered a 9.5% MOM increase to 132,300 tons.

Porcelain dishes’ output reached 5,500 tons, up by 5.5% MOM.

Pure aluminum ingots’ production stood at 55,600 tons during the period, up 4.2% month-on-month.  

Cement output grew by 4% MOM to 4.43 million tons. 

The production of copper cathode reached 21,500 tons, down 8.2% month-on-month.

Tile and ceramic output hit 36.56 million square meters, registering a 7.2% MOM decrease. 

Sanitary ware’s output decreased by 5.5% MOM to reach 6,900 tons.

Production of steel products hit 2.07 million tons, down 4.9%.

Sheet glass production stood at 113,500 tons, down 4.2% MOM.

The output of glass dishes declined by 2.7% to 58,000 tons. 

Alumina output hit 18,000 tons, registering a month-on-month decline of 0.5%.

The output of crude steel during the month hit 2.47 million tons, indicating a 0.3% decline compared with the previous month.
