The Statistical Center of Iran has put Iran’s labor force participation rate — the proportion of the population of ages 15 and above that is economically active — at 40.4% or 2.56 million people in Q4 of fiscal 2021-22 (Dec. 22, 2021-March 20).
The rate registers a 0.5% year-on-year decrease.
Men’s and women’s economic participation rates stood at 68% and 12.8% respectively.
A total of 21.52 million men and 4.06 million women of ages 15 and above were economically active in Q4, i.e., they were either employed or looking for a job.
