The average goods and services Consumer Price Index of “tobacco” in the 12-month period ending March 20, the last day of the fiscal 2021-22, increased by 35.9% compared with the corresponding period of the year before.
The CPI of the group stood at 608.8 in the month to March 20, indicating a 2.1% rise compared with the month before, according to the Statistical Center of Iran.
The “tobacco” index, which has the least impact on the total inflation rate among 12 groups of goods and services with a coefficient of 0.59%, registered a year-on-year increase of 37.2%. 
The overall annualized inflation in Iran during the month under review was reported at 40.2% with year-on-year and month-on-month rates reaching 34.7% and 1.3% respectively.
