Norouz Passenger Transportation Surveyed

A total of 5.26 million domestic and 534,329 international road travels were recorded during Norouz (Iranian New Year holidays) from March 16 to April 1, says the head of Resource Planning and Management Department of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
“In the rail sector, we had 3,292 trips over the period during which more than 1.22 million passengers were transported. Moreover, 17,171 domestic and international flights were operated during the period, transporting close to 2.19 million passengers,” Amir Mahmoud Ghaffari was also quoted as saying by News.mrud.ir.

Ghaffari noted that 2.77 million passengers and 2.52 million tourists were transported in the marine sector. 
“During the 17-day period, 24,486 and 2.55 million trips were recorded by passenger vessels and cruise ships respectively,” he added.
