    Growth in Output of Seven Mineral Products

    The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's review of last Iranian year’s first 10 months (March 21, 2021-Jan. 20) shows the output of seven mineral products (out of 12 under review) registered growth compared with the similar period of the year before.

    A total of 464,500 tons of pure aluminum ingots were produced during the period, up 24.8% compared with the corresponding period of last year, while the output of alumina grew by 0.6% to 193,100 tons. 

    Sheet glass production rose by 17.3% YOY to 1.13 million tons.

    The production of porcelain dishes increased by 9.7% YOY to 50,900 tons while the production of copper cathode stood at 251,300 tons, registering a YOY increase of 4.8%.

    Tile and ceramic output hit 382.43 million square meters, experiencing a 3% YOY increase.

    The output of glass dishes exceeded 612,300 tons, showing a YOY increase of 1.1%.

    The following products showed a decline in output during the period: Sanitary ware hit 81,000 tons, down 17.6%, coal concentrate production was at 1.22 million tons, down 12% YOY, cement and steel products stood at 52.98 million tons and 21.08 million tons respectively, down 8.4% and 4.7% respectively YOY, and crude steel production hit 23.46 million tons, indicating a 2% decrease year-on-year. 

     

     

    Monthly Review

    A monthly review of the ministry shows the output of two mineral products (out of 12 under review) registered growth in the 10th month of the current fiscal year (Dec. 21, 2021-Jan. 20) compared with the preceding month.

    Pure aluminum ingots’ production stood at 53,400 tons during the period, up 4.2% month-on-month.  

    Porcelain dishes’ output reached 5,200 tons, up by 1.1% MOM.

    Cement output decreased by 21.1% MOM to 4.25 million tons and coal concentrate production also registered an 14.8% MOM decline to 120,800 tons.

    The output of crude steel during the month hit 2.25 million tons, indicating a 13.1% fall compared with the previous month.

    Sanitary ware’s output decreased by 12.1% MOM to reach 7,000 tons.

    The production of copper cathode reached 23,400 tons, down 9.9% month-on-month.

    Alumina output hit 18,100 tons, registering a month-on-month decline of 7.7%.

    Sheet glass production stood at 118,500 tons and that of steel products hit 2.15 million tons, each down 5.7% MOM, while the output of glass dishes declined by 1.7% to 60,600 tons. 

    Tile and ceramic output hit 38.97 million square meters, registering a 3.5% MOM decrease.
