Shahid Rajaee Port Container Throughput Hit 1.4m TEUs

Container throughput at Shahid Rajaee Port of Iran stood at 1.44 million TEUs during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021-Jan. 20), according to the director general of Hormozgan Province’s Ports and Maritime Organization.
“Around 373,378 TEUs were for exports and 474,061 TEUs were import consignments,” Alireza Mohammadi Karajiran was quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
Container transit and transshipment stood at 224,179 and 213,034 TEUs respectively during the period, he added.
With the capacity to load and unload 6.5 million TEUs of containers per year, Shahid Rajaee, located 23 kilometers west of the port city of Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan Province, is Iran’s biggest container port.
