A total of 259,000 domestic and 10,000 international flights were operated during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021-Jan. 20), registering a 23% and 233% rise respectively compared with the similar period of last year, new data released by Iran Airports Company affiliated to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development show.
The number of passengers on domestic flights stood at 22.76 million during the period, registering a 23% year-on-year rise, News.mrud.ir reported.
Around 1.13 million passengers were transported on international flights, indicating a 586% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year.
A total of 133,000 planes flew over the Iranian airspace during the 10-month period under review, showing a 51% YOY rise.
According to the ministry, Iran’s passenger air fleet has 169 planes.
A total of 61 airports operate under Iran Airports Company.
