The Consumer Price Index of “tobacco” stood at 587 in the month to Jan. 20, indicating a 4.8% rise compared with the month before — the highest monthly price rise among 12 groups of goods and services surveyed by the Statistical Center of Iran.
The average CPI of the group in the 12-month period ending Jan. 20 increased by 42.4% compared with the corresponding period of the year before.
The “tobacco” index, which has the least impact on the total inflation rate with a coefficient of 0.59%, registered a year-on-year increase of 33.3%.
