Tehran’s Next Budget Bill Submitted to City Council

Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani submitted Tehran Municipality’s budget bill for the next fiscal year (March 2022-23) to the capital city’s Islamic City Council on Tuesday.

TM’s main budget proposal for the next fiscal has been set at 568.69 trillion rials ($2.05 billion), indicating a 51% growth compared with the current year’s budget, IRNA reported.

The 2021-22 budget has two sections: the main budget was 476.87 trillion rials ($1.72 billion) and the supplementary section’s budget was worth 22.74 trillion rials ($82.24 million). Devised for carrying out 32 special projects, the budget was later increased to 370 trillion rials ($1.33 billion). 

Tehran City Council Chairman Mehdi Chamran said the council has until Feb. 19 to examine and make necessary changes to the budget bill.
