A total of $3.5 billion worth of commodities were exported from Kermanshah Province’s border crossings during the current Iranian year’s first nine months (March 21-Dec. 21), showing a 9% rise compared with the similar period of last year, according to a local official.
“About $1.94 billion of the sum were non-oil products and the remaining $1.7 billion constituted liquefied gas,” Moslem Ahmadi Nasr was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
Parvizkhan border located in Qasr-e-Shirin County of the province was the busiest crossing during the period.
Non-oil exports from Kermanshah mainly include tomato and tomato paste, air-conditioners, cheese, industrial oil and their derivatives, biscuit, different types of melon, watermelon, tile and ceramic, plastic bags, marble, yogurt, milk, cream, cucumber, eggplant, apple and melamine dishes.
Kermanshah in western Iran shares 371 kilometers of borders with Iraq and its Kurdistan Region.
The province accounts for around half of Iran’s annual non-oil exports to Iraq.
