A total of 18,778 flight took off from or landed at Kish International Airport during the current Iranian year’s first nine months (March 21-Dec. 21), registering a 43% growth compared with last year’s corresponding period, latest data released by the airports’ Information and Statistics Center show.
A total of 1.93 million passengers were transported by these flights during the period, ILNA reported.
Notably, Kish-Dubai flights were launched as of Oct. 31 operated by IranAir on Sundays and Wednesdays, according to the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
As per schedule, Sunday flights leave Kish International Airport for Dubai at 4:40 p.m. and land at Dubai International Airport at 6:50 p.m. (local time).
The return flights leave Dubai at 7:50 p.m. and land at Kish Island at 9:05 p.m. of the same day.
Wednesday flights leave Kish at 3:20 p.m. and land in Dubai at 5:30 p.m. (local time). The return flights leave Dubai at 6:30 p.m. and land in Kish at 7:45 p.m.
Kish is a 91.5-square-kilometer resort island in Bandar Lengeh County, Hormozgan Province, off the southern coast of Iran in the Persian Gulf.
It has been declared the fourth tourist destination in Southwest Asia by the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
Kish Island is among the most beautiful coral islands in the Persian Gulf.
