A total of 394,255 tons of goods worth $331 million were exported from Kashan County in the central Isfahan Province during the current Iranian year’s first nine months (March 20-Dec. 21), registering a 45% and 90% rise in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year, according to a local official.
“The exports mainly included rebars and machine-made carpets. We also exported consignments of porcelain and glassware dishes, tiles and ceramics, steel and galvanized sheets, rosewater, herbal extracts and construction stones,” Alimorad Norouzi was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
Iraq, Pakistan, Qatar, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Uzbekistan, Germany, Australia, Libya, Turkmenistan, Spain, Turkey, the UK, Russia, Afghanistan, Armenia, Georgia, Bahrain, Belarus, Tanzania and Romania were the main export destinations.
Kashan has a 75% share in the country’s annual machine-made carpet production, he added.
Kashan has over 1,500 production units and 13 industrial parks and zones.
