Exports from Semnan Province’s customs terminals to 34 countries stood at 172,647 tons worth $286.61 million in the first eight months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Nov. 21), registering a 4% and 51% year-on-year growth in weight and value respectively, according to the head of Semnan Customs Administration.
“Light hydrocarbons, washing powder, cement, ceramic and tile, ground cable, swamp cooler and barite powder were the main exported products,” Ali Sadeddin also told IRNA.
The main export destinations were Iraq, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia and India.
The average value per ton of exported goods stood at $1,660, 46% higher compared with the corresponding period of last year.
Sadeddin noted that Semnan earned 93.24 billion rials ($311,218) in customs revenues during the period.
Moreover, a total of 9,442 tons worth $34.02 million of imported goods were cleared from the province’s customs terminals, which mainly included components and parts for machinery, electrical appliances, acrylic fibers and cotton.
A total of 16 countries were the origin of these imports and the main importers were Turkey, China, Uzbekistan, Italy, the UAE and South Korea.
The average value of each imported ton of goods hit $2,603, registering a 14% decline year-on-year.
