32% Growth in South Khorasan Exports
32% Growth in South Khorasan Exports

Exports from South Khorasan Province stood at 606,392 tons worth $512.64 million in the current fiscal year’s first eight months (March 21-Nov. 21), registering a 35% decline in weight but a 32% growth in value year-on-year respectively, said Hassan Rahimizadeh, a local official.
Fruits and vegetables, cement, ceramics and tiles, light hydrocarbons, gasoline, bitumen and rebar were the main export commodities.
Afghanistan was the biggest destination.
Shipments were also exported to Iraq, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
South Khorasan Province is located in northwest Iranian and has two border checkpoints, namely Birjand and Mahiroud, and four border markets of Dokohaneh, Mil 78, Mil 73 and Yazdan along its 460 kilometers of border with Afghanistan.
