Exports from Golestan Province stood at 263,825 tons worth $110.58 million in the current fiscal year’s first eight months (March 21-Nov. 21), registering a 140% and 63% year-on-year growth in weight and value respectively, Director General of Golestan Customs Administration Ebrahim Hosseini told IRNA.
Cement, profile pipes, dairy products, dates, potatoes, iodine and polystyrene were the main exported products.
Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan were the main destinations.
Hosseini noted that Golestan Customs Administration recorded 10,897 tons of imports worth $34.2 million during the same period, 33% and 151% higher in terms of weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year.
The imports, which mainly included fabrics and synthetic wax, came from China, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Poland and Vietnam.
