Semnan Exports Near $170m in Six Months

Semnan Province’s exports stood at 112,867 tons worth $169 million in the first six months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Sept. 22), registering a 3% decline in weight but a 40% growth in value compared with last year’s corresponding period, according to Ali Sadeddin, the head of Semnan Customs Administration.
Light hydrocarbons, ground cables, caustic soda, detergents, lead ingots, sodium carbonate, swamp cooler, anthracite, calcium hypochlorite, cement and calcium chloride were among the main products exported from Semnan to 33 countries, IRNA reported.
According to the official, the average price of each ton of exported goods and products stood at $1.49 million.
A total of 5,342 tons worth $25.91 million of goods and products were cleared from Semnan customs during the same period, registering a 3% decline in weight but a 6% growth in value year-on-year.
The imported goods include components and parts of electrical machinery and devices, spinning machines and transformers as well as tile molds and cotton.
