H1 Shahid Rajaee Port Container Loading Increases by 18%

Container loading for export from the southern Shahid Rajaee Port stood at 222,753 TEUs during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Sept. 22), registering an 18% growth compared with the similar period of last year, according to the director general of Hormozgan Ports and Maritime Organization.
“During the same period, container unloading [imports] hit 208,735 TEUs, registering a 3% decrease YOY,” Alireza Mohammadi Karajiran was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
The official noted that container transit through Shahid Rajaee Port during the six months under review stood at 141,050 TEUs, indicating an 85% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year.
