The Statistical Center of Iran has put labor force participation rate at 41.1% or 25.9 million people in the second quarter of the current Iranian year (June 22-Sept. 22), registering a 0.7% decrease year-on-year.
Labor force participation rate is the proportion of the population of people ages 15 and above that are either employed or looking for a job.
Men’s and women’s economic participation rates were 68.8% and 13.5% respectively in the same period.
A total of 21.66 million men and 4.24 million women of ages 15 and above were economically active in Q2, i.e., they were either employed or looking for a job.
