Business Permits Issued by Industries Ministry Decline

A total of 126,400 permits were issued for starting businesses by the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade in the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21), registering an 18.6% decline compared with the similar period of last year.

Latest figures released by the Industries Ministry also show 60,680 permits were issued during the third Iranian month (May 22-June 21), registering a 32.3% growth month-on-month.

Topping the list of provinces that issued the largest number of business permits during the three months are Tehran with 16,604, Khorasan Razavi with 10,550, Isfahan with 9,583, Mazandaran with 8,607 and Fars with 6,621. 

Tehran also topped the list with the highest number of business permits issued in the third Iranian month with 8,744 permits. It was followed by Khorasan Razavi with 5,179, Isfahan with 4,781, Mazandaran with 3,973 and East Azarbaijan with 3,255 permits.

The number of business permits reached 665,607 in the last Iranian year (March 2020-21), indicating a 58% growth compared with the previous year.

The number of e-trust symbol permits issued in the three months registered an 8.9% increase to reach 7,809 due to the rise in online business activities, owing to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. 

Also, the number of e-trust symbol permits issued in the third month of the current fiscal year (May 22-June 21) stood at 2,761 to register a 4.7% decline month-on-month.

E-trust symbol permits issued over the last Iranian year saw a whopping 150.8% hike to reach 33,044 licenses.
