160% Surge in Exports to Pakistan via Mirjaveh

A total of 350,239 tons of goods have been exported from Iran through Mirjaveh border crossing located in the southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan Province to the neighboring Pakistan since the beginning of the current Iranian year (March 21), to register a 160% surge compared with the similar period of last year, a local official said on Tuesday.
“Liquified gas, tar and hydrocarbons have been the main exported products over the period,” Masoud Nekoudari was also quoted as saying by IRNA.
The exports have been shipped via 15,584 trucks, registering a year-on-year rise of 166%, he added.
The official noted that transit through Mirjaveh during the same period showed a 133% rise compared with the corresponding period of last year.
Mirjaveh border checkpoint is located in the vicinity of Pakistan’s Taftan border in the state of Baluchestan. The checkpoint is considered the main border through which road trade between the two countries is carried out.
