A total of 130,525 passengers were transported by Iran’s flag carrier IranAir via 2,389 flights during the fourth month of the current fiscal year (June 22-July 22), registering a 6% increase month-on-month, according to the director of IranAir Public Relations Department.
“During the same period, 36,516 passengers were transported via 305 international flights, registering a 115% growth compared with the preceding month,” Hossein Jahani was also quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.
The total revenue-generating flight hours in the month under review stood at 3,984 hours, of which 2,966 hours or 74% belonged to domestic flights and 1,017 hours or 26% belonged to international flights.
The official noted that 222,863 seats were available on domestic and international flights during the period, of which 58% were used by passengers and the remaining were empty.
“According to the National Coronavirus Headquarters instructions, all IranAir fights were operated with 60% of their passenger capacity,” he added.
In the fourth month of the current fiscal year, 1,853 tons of cargo were transported by IranAir, accounting for 90% of the total cargo volume carried by international flights during the period, registering a 33% growth MOM.
“During the same period, more than 27 tons of postal cargos were moved by IranAir fleet, of which 76% or 21 tons were transported domestically,” he said.
