The board of directors of the newly-established Iran-Finland Chamber of Commerce has been elected in a meeting of founding members in Tehran.
“A joint commerce committee led by Gholamhossein Jamili, set up one and a half years ago, has managed to facilitate the trade of construction materials, petrochemicals, nuts and pharmaceuticals, as well as the transfer of technology between the two countries,” Mohammad Reza Karbasi, the head of the International Department of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, was quoted as saying by Otaghiranonline.ir.
Karbasi put the value of annual economic exchanges between Iran and Finland at over $7.5 million and called on their embassies and the Foreign Ministry to lend support to economic players for enhancing visa processing, banking procedures and the participation of Iranian traders in the upcoming exhibition scheduled to be held in Finland.
Peyman Sa’adat, a Foreign Ministry official who also attended the meeting, said, “Forging ties and initiating negotiations with Finnish officials regarding the export of Covid-19 vaccines to Iran should be placed on the agenda of the joint chamber.”
