Prices of plastic dishes have doubled since the fiscal 2019-20, according to the head of Plastic and Nylon Union.
“In addition to rising raw material prices, we are also witnessing an increase in overhead expenses such as labor costs, electricity bills and prices of spare parts for production equipment,” Akbar Mashhadizadeh was also quoted as saying by IRIB News.
The official added that currently, there is no shortage of plastic dishes in the market, noting that the price of plastic products fluctuates every week due to changes in raw material prices at Iran Mercantile Exchange.
“Therefore, it is not possible to set a fixed price for these products,” he added.
