The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration prevented the smuggling of statues filled with heroin to Europe.
According to Rouhollah Latifi, IRICA spokesman, a transit truck containing polyethylene and gypsum sculptures heading to Germany was stopped by customs personnel at Iran’s northwest customs terminal and 135 kilograms of heroin concealed in the statues were discovered by sniffer dogs.
The drugs and smugglers were handed over to security officials, Fars News Agency reported on August 17.
