Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture says recent power outages have inflicted between 1-5 billion rials ($4,000-20,000) worth of losses on businesses. 
Of the 51 industrial enterprises affiliated to TCCIM, 82% said they lacked backup power supply and 65% claimed their equipment and machinery were seriously damaged by power outages.  
Forty percent said they lost their raw materials due to blackouts and 43% said these power outages adversely affected the quality and hygiene of their products.
Workforce idled by the blackout, decline in productivity, delays in supplier delivery and delay in administrative works of governmental offices providing services like tax filing for companies were reported by entrepreneurs and business owners.
Producers were also critical of unscheduled outages and said industrial towns were harmed by outages, as they registered a decline in production and a price hike.
