The working hours of executive offices and administrations across Tehran Province have been shifted to 7 a.m.-1 p.m. to conserve energy, according to Deputy Governor of Tehran Province Gholamreza Abbas Pasha.
Earlier, Spokesman for the Iran Power Generation, Distribution and Transmission Company (also known as Tavanir) Mostafa Rajabi Mashhadi announced that all public offices and organizations, banks and other public services will be closed on Thursdays until Aug. 22.
In Iran, most state and private offices only have Friday as public holiday.
Iran is experiencing a series of blackouts lately, as electricity consumption has reached unprecedented records amid high temperatures nationwide though the frequency of power cuts has decreased in recent days.
