Q1 Exports From Bileh Savar Border at $84m

Bileh Savar border crossing exported 67,000 tons of goods worth $84 million in the first three months of the current fiscal year (March 21-June 21), registering a 113% and 227% growth in weight and value respectively year-on-year, according to the director general of Ardabil Customs Administration.
The exports mainly included potatoes, glass, tiles, ceramics, plastic and metal products, IRNA reported.
Imports hit $2.5 million in the period, registering a 17% growth YOY.
The customs revenue of the terminal stood at $35.08 million in the three months, registering a 26% decline compared with the same period of last year.
Bileh Savar checkpoint, bordering Azerbaijan Republic and located in northern Ardabil, is the province’s only border terminal. Its traditional export destinations are Azerbaijan, Russia and Georgia.
About 215,000 tons of commodities worth $227 million were exported from Bileh Savar checkpoint in the last Iranian year (March 2020-21), showing a 43% and 114% surge compared with the year before.
