Exports to South Africa stood at 148,000 tons worth $32 million in the first two months of the current fiscal year (March 21-May 21), registering a 279% and 451% growth in weight and value respectively, compared with the 39,000 tons worth $6 million in the previous year.
The announcement was made by Leila Baghban, the head of Trade Promotion Organization’s South African Department.
“Urea with $7.26 million and sulfur worth $6.4 million were the main exported goods,” she added.
Imports from South Africa stood at 100,000 tons worth $400,000 million during the period under review.
