The Statistical Center of Iran has released a new report, reviewing the price changes in 53 food items during the month ending March 20.
The biggest month-on-month price rise for a food item in urban areas during the month under review was recorded for watermelons with 42%, which sold for 68,960 rials (28 cents) per kilo.
The second and third biggest month-on-month price increase during the period was registered for pomegranates with 14.1% and limes with 13.2%, the Statistical Center of Iran reported.
A kilogram of pomegranates was sold at 229,814 rials (94 cents) and a kilogram of limes went for 245,296 rials (99 cents) last month.
