A total of 17,141 planes flew to/over Iran from March 16 to April 2, which coincided with Norouz, the Iranian New Year, holidays, indicating a 94% increase compared with the corresponding period of last year, Siavash Amirmokri, managing director of Iran Airports Company, told ILNA. 
“Of the total flights, 8,822 were domestic, 6,616 were overflights, 1,422 were international and 281 were other types of flights. The number of domestic flights increased by 202%, overflights by 21%, international flights by 316%, while the number of other flights grew by 165%,” he added.
