Dramatic Rise in Sea Travel During Norouz Holidays

A total of 1.4 million sea journeys were made during the Norouz (Iranian New Year) holidays from March 15 to April 4, according to an official with the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran.
“These travels were made via 81,000 vessels over the period under review,” Hossein Abbasnejad was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The official noted that the 1.4 million figure stood at 80,000 last year.
Hormozgan, Mazandaran, Gilan, Golestan, Sistan-Baluchestan, Bushehr and Khuzestan topped the list of ports from where the journeys were made.
